Rising Angels is a national charitable organization based in the Greater Toronto Area, dedicated to restoring,
empowering, and equipping survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking across Canada. Through
outreach, advocacy, recovery programming, and survivor mentorship, we walk alongside those impacted—
helping them reclaim their freedom, identity, and future.

The Opportunity
As a Director on our Board, you will play a key role in:

• Shaping the strategic direction of the organization
• Championing our mission and expanding our reach through your networks
• Ensuring good governance and biblical accountability
• Providing oversight in areas such as finance, fundraising, partnerships, and policy
• Supporting a passionate, growing team as we respond to the increasing needs of survivors

Ideal Candidate Profile
Candidates should have a broad range of experience and personal commitment to anti-human trafficking
efforts.

Key qualifications include:

• Demonstrated commitment to social justice, survivor care, and/or human rights.
• Prior board governance experience or a clear understanding of fiduciary responsibilities.

Professional expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Non-profit governance and board leadership
• Financial oversight or legal expertise
• Fund development and donor engagement
• Public relations, communications, or media
• Government or policy advocacy
• Survivor care, trauma recovery, social work, or ministry
• Strategic planning or human resources

Additional assets:

• A strong professional or personal network relevant to our mission.
• Previous volunteer leadership or lived experience with social impact work.

Commitment

• This is a volunteer position.
• Board members are appointed for a term of up to three years.
• Directors must be available to attend monthly board meetings, occasional committee work, and strategic
  planning sessions.
